Digital Ocean is excited to announce the launch of our Data Stories Project. We believe that it is more important than ever to support our stories with data and research, yet often the data behind academic research is in inaccessible formats for ocean storytellers. Numbers can tell a very powerful story, but only if they are put into context. That is why we are aiming to connect academic research around the oceans to storytellers through simple and free data based graphics, which can become the building blocks for many different stories. Our first installment of this project comes from the incredible economic research on the risks of sea level rise from the National Ocean Economics Program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.

These videographics about the economics risks of sea level rise are story building blocks that we hope will make it easier to tell stories about climate change, sea level rise, and the blue economy.

We invite you to download these videographics from our campaign page or share them from our Youtube channel; all we ask is that you use them in creative ways to tell stories and spread the word by telling other storytellers about this project!
